Photojournalism
This was Bristol City Councils drains and sewers maintenance team back in 1984. My photographs were included as part of an exhibition titled A Day In The Life Of Bristol, organised by The Watershed Gallery and Media Centre. I spent the day with these men documenting their unenviable work.
In a complete social contrast to the hard working men keeping Bristol’s sewers running, there is The Badminton Hunt. I have to begin by stating I do not agree with fox hunting. At the time I was offered an editorial commission by a magazine to create a picture story of this hunt meeting. As I’d not long left art college, where part of the course was photojournalism, it was a career offer I found hard to turn down, so I decided to forgot my principles for a moment. I really hope I did not over glamourise it.
